The principal feature of Koskisen Oy's display at
the IAA Commercial Vehicle Fair (in Hall 27, Stand E 26) will be their NewSize
range of Finnish birch plywood flooring and wall boards now produced in sizes
up to 1900 x 4000 mm. This new maximum size has been developed specifically for
the production of one-piece joint-free vehicle floors which are more rigid,
more economical and quicker to produce than conventional jointed floors. They
are supplied as customized, coated, textured and ready-machined components.
Koskisen's NewSize boards are ideal for use in commercial vehicles,
such as the Ford Transit, Volkswagen Transporter and LT,
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Vito, Vaneo and Vario, Peugeot Expert,
Boxer and Partner, Citroën Jumper, Fiat Scudo and Ducato,
and many others.
Major investment in new production and coating
lines
The company has invested heavily in its new production plant
in Järvelä, Finland where they are already producing the new, extra
large 1900 x 4000 boards. New coating equipment has also been installed to
handle the 1900 x 4000 mm board which is already available in a choice of
finishes to vehicle manufacturers.
In addition to a range of board
sizes and board thicknesses up to 50 mm, a wider range of coatings is now
available in a choice of colours. For example, there are phenolic film and
melamine film coatings in thicknesses from 120 g/m2 to 800 g/m2, as well as a
range of plastic and synthetic rubber coatings in thicknesses from 0.2mm to 3
mm or more.
Choice of grades for joint-free floors and interior wall
cladding
Koskisen specialize in cooperating with their customers in
the design, development and production of their Finnish birch plywood boards.
For vehicle flooring, they seek to maximize the material's natural strength,
rigidity and light weight as well as its good resistance to changing climatic
conditions.
The NewSize range embraces coated and textured
grades: diamond-patterned KoskiCarat, with a high load-bearing capacity, is
coated with a phenolic film, KoskiCrown has a decorative crown design and
KoskiDeck has a wire mesh pattern. KoskiFutura Autofloor has a slip-resistant
plastic coating, KoskiFutura Friction has a synthetic rubber finish; and there
is also the highly durable KoskiTrailer for very heavy-duty use. Two uncoated
boards complete the range: KoskiSound for airborne noise insulation and
KoskiStandard, an all-purpose plywood for demanding applications.
Koskisen's complementary range of NewSize wall cladding boards for
vehicle interiors, which feature decorative, easy-care, wear-resistant
finishes, will also be on show at the IAA Fair.
