THE CLUB -- LEADING U.S. AUTO
STEERING WHEEL
LOCK --ARRIVES IN EUROPE
Company also introduces
locks for residential and commercial items.
The Club will be exhibited at EQUIP AUTO 99,
PARIS-NORD Exhibition Center, Paris, France, October
13-18.
Booth no. 5 C 67 e in the USA Pavilion Hall 5.
The largest selling automobile steering wheel lock in the U. S. and a new line of cable locks and padlocks for outdoor household and commercial use have been introduced in Europe by U. S. company Winner International. They will be available in large retail outlets including chain, hardware and automotive specialty stores.
The Club is a high strength tempered steel bar with hooks that lock in place to prevent a vehicles steering wheel from turning. Because it is easily visible from outside the vehicle, it also serves as a deterrent to potential thieves. All models have a secure locking system with 10,000 key variations.
New: Security for household and business items
Expanding on its success in auto theft prevention, Winner International has introduced The Club Security Series, a line of durable cable locks, adjustable utility locks and lifetime guaranteed padlocks. These products can secure patio furniture, garden sheds, ladders or other business or household equipment.
The new cable locks are coated with vinyl to prevent rust and protect the items that they secure. Utility locks are self-locking and available in three sizes. Padlocks are available in four sizes and several models feature re-settable combinations.
Proven to reduce auto theft in U.S.
The National Insurance Crime Bureau in the United States determined in 1996 that owners of The Club are four times less likely to have their cars stolen than the average motorist. Statistics compiled by the Bureau showed that only seven motorists who purchased The Club during the first half of 1995 had their vehicles stolen -- a rate of one theft for every 537 owners. That is one-fourth of the national U. S. theft rate of one for every 135 registered vehicles.
The manufacturer, Winner International, reports receiving legitimate theft claims for less than one hundredth of one percent of sales, or 8.4 thefts per 100,000 owners of the device in 1998.
Self-locking model available
Two new steering wheel locks have been introduced this year:
With a patented self-locking system, the Club LX is the first model that can be locked without using the key. It has a solid steel lock housing and hooks for added strength and a band on the handle that glows in the dark for increased visibility. It uses a quad-style key that is nearly impossible to defeat, and is available in red, white and blue.
The lower cost Sport Club, available in yellow and white, meets the needs of consumers who are not looking for added features.
Endorsements and Approvals
The Club is endorsed by the National Fraternal Order of Police, a U. S. law enforcement organization with more than 235,000 members.
The Mega Club model is the first mechanical steering wheel lock to pass the stringent test procedures of Stöldskydds Föreningen (SSF) in Sweden. It met the similar requirements of The Association of Norwegian Insurance Companies.
Testing conducted by The Royal Automotive Club of Victoria and Which Car Magazine rated The Club LX as the Number One steering wheel lock in Australia.
The Club is a registered trademark of Winner International.
